One of the things you have to understand about a divorce is that lawyer’s time is not real time.

If a lawyer says he will call you back in five minutes, he means an hour or two.

If a lawyer tells a judge that his case will take one hour, it will really take a half day or more.

And when a judge takes your case under advisement, you might get a ruling in a couple of weeks or a couple of months.

An uncontested divorce can be completed fairly quickly, which in lawyer’s time means three to six months.
